Getting Started with Faithful Chapters
We’re so excited that Faithful Chapters is part of your family’s scripture journey!
Our hope is that these books become more than stories you read once—they become simple, meaningful moments that help your children learn about the Book of Mormon and Jesus Christ.
Here are a few ideas to help you get started:
1. Start Small (and Keep It Simple)
Little children learn through repetition and consistency.
You don’t need a long lesson or a perfect routine. A few minutes together reading a scripture story can help your child become familiar with the people, places, and teachings found in the Book of Mormon.
Try:
- Reading one story before bedtime.
- Keeping your book in a place your child can easily access.
- Letting your child choose which story to read.
- Re-reading the same story often.
Remember: small moments can build a strong foundation of faith.
2. Make Reading Time Interactive
Young children learn best when they can participate.
While reading, try asking questions like:
Before reading:
- What do you think this story will be about?
- What do you notice on the cover?
While reading:
- What do you see in this picture?
- How do you think this person feels?
- What would you do if you were in this story?
After reading:
- What was your favorite part?
- What did you learn about Jesus Christ?
- How can we follow this example?
There are no wrong answers—your conversations are what matter.
3. Find Faith the Mouse 🐭
Every Faithful Chapters book has a hidden mouse named Faith waiting to be found on every page!
Looking for Faith is a simple way to keep little ones engaged while helping them slow down and notice the details in each illustration.
Try asking:
“Can you find Faith?”
You might be surprised how much your child enjoys searching for her again and again.
4. Use Your Free Resources
Each Faithful Chapters book includes additional resources to help your family continue learning together.
Simply scan the QR code inside your book to access:
- Printable coloring pages.
- Family Home Evening lessons.
- Additional activities.
These resources are designed to help you continue the conversation beyond the story.
5. Create a Simple Bedtime Tradition
Many families love using scripture stories as part of their bedtime routine.
You could try:
📖 Read the story together.
💬 Ask one question about what you learned.
🙏 Say a prayer and thank Heavenly Father for the example in the story.
Over time, these simple moments can become some of your child’s favorite memories.
Most Importantly…
Don’t worry about making scripture study perfect.
Your child does not need a perfect teacher. They need a loving parent who keeps showing up.
Every story you share, every question you answer, and every conversation you have helps your child begin building their own relationship with Jesus Christ.
Thank you for letting Faithful Chapters be part of those moments. 🤍
